IPM 08

Yesterday we officialy started the most important and the most powerful conference in AIESEC - International Presidents Meeting 2008. There is a huge responsibility on this conference. There are two main objectives of this conference - TO DEFINE THE GLOBAL FOCUS AREAS FOR THE NEXT TERM and TO SELECT TEAM OF AIESEC INTERNATIONAL 2008.

Global focus areas will be decided later on during the conference, in the moment of speak elections for AIESEC International are going on. Yesterdy we had speaches of 3 candidates for President of AIESEC International, today we are listening to speeches of 19 candidates for directors of AIESEC International. Further on there will be Questions & Answers of all the applicants, and then selections. PAI will be elected by the global plenary, and AI directors will be selected by PAI if they receive the vote of confidence by the plenary.

So far we also had Growth Network meeting where we checked how AIESEC stands in Central and Eastern Europe. With great pleasure we accepted the news that AIESEC CEE has grown 67% in number of membership. Besides that we have also grown on all the other fields, we only decreased a bit on the number of Outgoing students. That was a news that motivated the whole team in achieving more results. So we immediately started with searching for possible solutions on current problems we have.

As always we also promote the national events. So we are inviting each other to many different events. I will invite everybody to participate on events of MBA school of management on Bled.

For the end of this post i would like to say that we had Global Village in Macedonia, event where countries presented themselves. I must say i was a bit ashamed since Slovenia has more of a "step-mother relationship" toward organization and dont give us promotion materials. However i was proud to stand in front of all the people and promote the beauties of Slovenia to foreigners. Especially i was proud to promote my municipality, Obcina Trzic, which has generously co-financed my trip to event, where 200 leaders of worlds biggest youth organization will try to create a plan on how to continue changing the world to a better place to live for everybody.

Hard-working greetings from a great, but tiring event.
